The
Red Ring Of Death and What It Means For Your X-BOX 360
If you're like most gamers out there, you can't stand to be away from
your XBOX 360 for too long. As a matter of fact, you probably count the
minutes until you can return home, pop in your favorite game, and play
for hours in front of your big screen TV. Sounds like heaven, right? Of
course it does. Well, it is about to sound a whole lot worse. Why is
that? Because of the "RED RING OF DEATH!"
If you don't know what that is, you should consider yourself fortunate
up to this point, as you have not yet had to deal with this horrible
situation. The "Red Ring Of Death" is basically a hardware malfunction
that "breaks" your X-BOX 360; indicated by 3 flashing red lights.
Breaks=No Longer working, Must be repaired by a profession. How serious
is this problem? Well, it's so serious that it has affected thousands
of xbox360 owners and continues to affect more each and every day.
"AM I GOING TO HAVE TO BUY A NEW XBOX 360!?!?" Luckily, no. Although
every case is different, the problem is very fixable and the warranty
will still cover the damages. On the other hand, if your warranty has
run out, the repairs will not likely be free. You won't have to shell
out $300-$400 mind you, but you may wind up paying around $100-150 to
get your console fixed.
"What causes the XBOX-360 malfunction?" Overheating. The professionals
at Microsoft won't give any specific data about the true cause of the
"Red Ring", but most experts quickly agree that the console just runs
too hot. This is mainly due to the design of the 360, as everything
seems to be smashed together in that sleek white box. Normally that
wouldn't be a problem, but it is in this case because there just isn't
a sufficient amount of air traveling through the innards of the console
to keep it cool.
The appearance of the XBOX 360 is very sleek and very sexy, but was it
worth the trade for long term functionality? We may actually find out
soon enough. Generally speaking, things would have worked out much
better if the design included more air holes in more effective places;
like the front of the 360 for instance.
Aside from the fact that it is horribly inconvenient and may cost a bit
of money, the "Red Ring Of Death" is really more of a nuisance than it
is a crisis. Sure, you won't get to play your XBOX 360 for awhile, but
things could be much worse. Just be glad that the problem can be fixed
and that you will be able to play video games again within a few weeks;
usually less than one week. The bad news, though, lies with Microsoft
as they are going to lose a bundle for this foul up. |

How
To Get More Web Site Traffic- Learn The Secret of Traffic Generation!
Is there one powerful and almighty secret to generating website
traffic? Most would say no, and that is partly true. There is no
underground society that has come up with a 100% guaranteed method of
generating more web site traffic. However, there is a secret that most
people don't know about. That secret is: you don't have to pay a single
cent for targeted web site traffic, you can get it absolutely free!
It may not be the secret you were hoping for, but it is still something
you should always remember. Spending money on website traffic is
quickly becoming a thing of the past. Admittedly, people still do it
from time to time, but it is becoming far more common for people to
turn to free techniques rather than paid ones. So, if you want to get
on the bandwagon and say goodbye to high priced traffic generating
techniques, then keep reading.
Obviously, the first thing you have to do to get out of the "pay for
traffic" mindset is stop paying for traffic. Put a halt on all of your
traffic spending and start learning about the free techniques that can
be used. Then again, if your profits outweigh that of your spending,
you should probably continue using paid methods, as you have found a
paid technique that actually works well.
Anyways...Once you have said goodbye to paid traffic scams, which many
of them happen to be, you should begin to learn about article
marketing. Article marketing is a fairly simple technique that involves
writing informative and/or entertaining articles and submitting them to
article directories. When an article is put together with good
keywords, an interesting topic, a strong title, and an attention
grabbing resource box, it can generate thousands of free traffic hits
every month. Figuratively speaking, a good article is like a web site
traffic generator, as it will produce traffic for months while
basically being on autopilot.
After you have acquainted yourself with article marketing (which could
take anywhere from a week to a few months, depending on how much effort
you put into it), you should move on to forum posting. Forum posting
may not be as powerful as article marketing, but it is a heck of a lot
easier. All you have to do is find forums related to your niche and
begin posting. Since the forum will be niche specific, you should have
no problem finding things to discuss with the other members.
Forums are a great place to let people know of your expertise and to
show people that you really do know what you are talking about. Being a
respected and trusted member of a forum can do wonders for your
traffic. Every time you post, someone will be eager to hear your
opinions and advice. Each time you have something to add to a thread,
people will be quick to listen. And the best part is, any time someone
looks at your post, they will see a link to your website where they can
find more advice or just an unbelievable offer. Therefore, if they ever
want to get more of your valuable expertise, they can just visit your
website. It's really a win-win scenario; you build up your reputation
and you get traffic at the same time! |

Becoming
a Video Game Tester- The Importance Of Networking
Starting a career as a video game tester is not typically easy. To be
honest, it can be downright brutal if you just rush in blind and hope
for the best. To make things a bit easier for yourself, it may be a
good idea to get acquainted with the basics of being a professional
video game tester; or more specifically, the importance of networking
as a tester.
Networking is a very important aspect of game testing. Not only will it
improve your chances of advancement in your career, but it can also be
a great way to find out whats going on behind closed doors within the
industry. Are you guaranteed to have a better career with a network of
reliable contacts? No, but it will surely help with the cause.
Building up and maintaining a reliable network is not an easy task. You
can't sign-up to a website and expect them to give you all of the
contacts you'll ever need. It just doesn't work that way. However, that
doesn't mean you shouldn't exploit as many websites as possible. As a
matter of fact, websites and forums are great places to begin with your
networking efforts. Why? Simply because they are filled with people who
know a lot about video games and the video game industry.
Websites & forums devoted to video games and game testing are
created practically every day, which means you are in no short supply
of people to network with. Although, if you do happen to have trouble
finding a forum that focuses on the video game industry (which is
highly unlikely), there is link to a game developers forum directly
below. It should be an excellent place to make a few contacts and get
started with your networking.

"Is networking really that important?" In a simple word, yes. A quality
network will play a large part in your video game tester career.
Generally speaking, a reliable network is the difference between
getting an "okay" testing job and an "Outstanding!" one. Your network
could lead to that huge job that pays almost triple what any other
testing job has paid; Or, your lack of a network could lead to that
embarrassingly small paycheck that causes you to wonder why you became
a professional video game tester in the first place. All in all, your
network will either make or break your video game testing career. |

Driving
Traffic to Your Web Site- 5 Fantastic Tips
If you're a new internet marketer or just a new webmaster, the idea of
driving traffic to a website can be a bit overwhelming. There are so
many questions you need answered. How much traffic do you want? How
much traffic is a reasonable goal? Should you hire a professional
consultant to walk you through the process? Which methods should you
use?
How long before you get results? Where do you start? As you can see,
overwhelming. However, there is a great way to rid yourself of that
feeling and get started on the right path. That "great way" isn't a 5
part course or a $500 seminar, it's reading a few simple traffic tips.
Tip #1
A large road block for many new comers is the fear of failing, as well
as the fear of critizement. You simply can't be afraid of people
disliking your site. Some people will dislike it and some people will
love it; that's just how it is. The sooner you accept that, the better
off your website, and your traffic, will be.
Remeber: If you get hung up on the "possibilities", you will never be
able to reap the rewards of the "realities". With that being said, just
get your site started and start promoting it any way you can; don't
think negative. (This tip is more of a guideline.)
Tip #2
Label yourself as an expert and prove it in forums. There are forums
about virtually every subject known to man, so all you have to do is
find one or two related to your site and start posting. Express your
opinion and solve problems for the other members. Suggest viable
solutions and offer helpful advice for free. After awhile, the members
will warm up to you and see you as one of their own. When that happens,
you won't have trouble getting them to talk with you, listen to your
opinions, and of course, visit your website. Don't forget, always add a
signature file when you make posts; you'd be surprised how effective
that can really be.
Tip #3
Become an expert author. No, you don't have to write a book, you just
have to write articles. Writing articles and submitting them to article
directories, or better known as article marketing, is a terrific way to
generate traffic. Writing about the topic of your choice should be easy
because you're an expert, right?
In that case, right 10-20 articles covering a multitude of different
things on the topic and then submit them to a few directories; such as
ezinearticles.com, articledashboard.com, or goarticles.com. But, no
matter which directory(s) you decide to submit to, make sure you have
an eye catching bio/resource box. Otherwise, you won't get any traffic
out of the articles. Article marketing can take some time to master,
but once you have got it down, the free traffic will roll in by the ton.
Tip #4
Pay-per-click campaigns aren't as scary as some people think. As a
matter of fact, they are quite easy to manage and it's one of the most
powerful methods of traffic generation. It may be easy to manage, but
it isn't so simple to get started; hence, the reason people think it is
scary.
In order to have a successful pay-per-click campaign, with Google
Adwords for instance, you need to know what keywords to target and know
how to manage your budget. After all, if you are spending top dollar
for clicks, yet getting nothing from your visitors, you're wasting lots
of money. There are tons of guides out there, but the best way to get
results is just to get started. You won't nail it on the first try, so
don't blame yourself. It can take a long time before you balance out
the spend-to-earn ratio.
Educate yourself, test different campaigns, and track your progress.
Tip #5
Have unique content! Is is the golden tip and the golden rule. It's
website creation 101: Without quality, unique content, your website
traffic won't sustain itself. Updating your website with fresh content
will help out huge in your traffic driving efforts. Not only will your
visitors like the content, but the search engines will too and your
ranking will improve because of it. As long as your website is viewed
as fresh & unique, you won't have a problem generating free
traffic
hits. |
